Future Strata No. 3

$2,300.00

48 x 24 in. | Mixed media on reinforced plywood panel | 2013–2014

With a broader, more atmospheric drift of color, Future Strata No. 3 unfolds through layered greens, shadowy blacks, muted blues, earthy reds, and flashes of fluorescent pink, yellow, and citrus green. Its palette suggests changing seasons, sediment, and hidden bloom — a darker surface continually interrupted by buried brightness. The painting rewards close looking, slowly revealing intricate pattern shifts and glowing seams of color held just below the surface.

Built over an extended period through repeated cycles of painting, drying, and sanding, this work preserves multiple phases of itself at once. Earlier passages remain visible as exposed strata, giving the panel a sense of depth, memory, and transformation rather than a single fixed image. It was originally exhibited in Tingleguts IV at Project 4 Gallery, Washington, DC, in 2014, and has not been shown again until now.
